Like its predecessor the game is a real-time strategy wargame that uses the American Civil War as its setting. This time the featured battle is the 2nd Manassas Campaign. Included are 20 different scenarios the result of which carry over after battles. Additionally the player can play a number of what-if scenarios revolving around the 2nd Manassas campaign.
